Garden October 2011 - Images of Bark

These images were taken with the 40 - 150mm lens. I was fascinated by the textures, colours and especially the cobwebs.

I still believe this is a valid subject for a photograph. Unfortunately the images produced are rather 'flat' and dull. Possibly I need to move closer to the subject - close and personal. Certainly brighter light to highlight the colours of the bark would help. With better light and a closer shot I will be able to concentrate more on the composition of the image - does the darkness behind the webs need reducing by sunlight directly upon it? This might well highlight the many depths of the photo - reduce its 'flatness'.

A photo shoot to be repeated on a bright spring or summers day. Early morning sun and evening are not options as this tree is shaded at both the beginning and end of the day.
